Guru Story

Dear all

You must have heard so many miraculous experiences of others and you must also have had so many like that which we them GURU STORIES. Listening these stories or having such experiences always consolidate our faith and help us to understand the knowledge more clearly. Since these are live experiences they always have more impact on our consciousness also.

I remember in Narada Bhakti Sutra also Gurudev explain in one of sutra:

"Bhakta ekantino mukhyah, kanthavarodha romancha shrubhih parasparam lapamanah pavayanti kulani prithvim cha"

Means: devotees has such one-pointedness that when they get together and talk. They speak about Divine, their throats choke, their hair stands up, tears roll down their eyes and they uplift each other and they purify not just their family, not just their relatives, but the whole world. That is divine love.

That is the power of talking about divine. So lets open your heart and go back in your life and explore those moments which you always remember and remembering those moment takes to trance and connect to divine, our master. Share those Sweet guru stories. I am working on a blog where I want to put all these sweet guru stories with the wisdom which imprinted in us.

Here is such one of my guru story:

It was January 2006 before silver Jubilee celebration. Everybody in ashram was getting ready for big celebration for 25 years of service, wisdom, love and a dream of one world family which was coming true every moment. In one of the breezy evening of Bangalore we had one huge satsang in Ashram as Gurudev was there. Since that was a breezy day and it started drizzling also so satsang was planed in Vishalakshi Mantap which made me more anxious to be in front row. Many people from city of bangalore and many other countries were already flooded the ashram. And Since I had some unpleasent experience of not having HIS darshan, I wanted to be in front row in the satsang. So I was pushing one of fellow teacher Rajesh to hurry up and be on time for the satsang. But as everything was already planned by Divine (and always planned in Divine realm) we got late and could get entry only through the back gate of VM as all the other three gates were JAM PACKED. And since my mind was pre-anxious and cooked up from the previous experiences of not having Darshan. I was really angry on Rajesh.

With the grudging mind I and other friends entered from the back gate of VM and pushing myself some how to have a sight on HIM. and I was showing my all anger on my fellow friends that I was telling you guys to hurry up but you guys didn't. and here again we are late. I was not listening to anything what HE was saying while answering some the question. And when I was totally out of my mind in anger and frustration of not seeing HIM; very moment HE got up from HIS seat and walked on the stage toward our direction and straight looking at me HE spoke "ARE YOU HAPPY NOW"

Now you guys know what happened next, for a couple of moment I was stunned and experiencing what has happened and then suddenly tears just started rolling from my eyes for next 15 mins, perhaps I was in some other world soaked in pure love and bliss of that experience. Then I came back in senses and first thing I spoke to Rajesh how intelligent HE is. Then Rajesh with his mischievous smile replied back HE is not intelligent HE is intelligence..... And again I was in some blissful state where I was experience goose bumps at the body level at the same time wondering at mind level That how does HE DO THAT!!! Its a wonder... But that moment gave me realization whether I can see HIM or not BUT HE IS SEEING ME ALWAYS... what an experience for a life-time that I am never alone.....

Jai Gurudev!!!!

Eat Less, Digest More

Spiritual or self-help teaching is a slippery path to walk upon. Being a spiritual teacher comes with a danger that one can have a notion of knowing without knowing. For example, i t is one thing to intellectually understand yoga is good for the healthy body but then doing it every day to keep the body healthy is an entirely different thing. Similarly, it is one thing to understand the benefit of practicing acceptance for the peace of mind then to living the acceptance.  Let's  expand upon it a bit. There are three kinds of understandings viz intellectual, experiential and existential. The first level of understanding is the intellectual understanding which is the most superficial one, like understanding of the mental phenomenon, methods of quietening the mind, and one can easily intellectually understand this knowledge or inner science which is very similar to the understanding of any other field like physics, chemistry, mathematics etc. Here the process mostly involves...

Sakshi-The Witness

There is wisdom beyond every event. There is love beyond every person. There is infinity beyond every object. Sri Sri Ravi Shankar These are beautiful lines spoken by world renowned spiritual leader and humanitarian Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. Though sounds very simple but these few lines are impregnated with vast wisdom which immediately bring the shift in consciousness by little dwelling. Other significance of these ' sutras ', the tenets of wisdom is that it covers most of mind stuff/activity/thought. If carefully deliberated one find mind dwells either on events, people or objects most of the times and all most all over conflicts whether personal or otherwise can be attributed to these three dimension of existence namely events, people and objects. Interestingly, events, people and objects brings two kinds of experiences, pleasurable or miserable. When these attributes brings pleasurable experience mind develop craving for those events, people or objects (e.g. partyin...

Civilization Wars: What is Success Mantra

I stumbled upon this Histomap created by John B. Sparks, was first printed by Rand McNally in 1931. The Histomap describes how different civilization rose and faded with time. Expansion of any civilization represented by horizontal expansion on the graph. It is interesting to note these expansions and spreading of civilization was short lived. e.g. say Roman, Mongols or Greeks etc. Any attempt to expand quickly either militarily or by imperialistically became the extinction of that civilization in quick span of 100-300 years. It seems these kind of military expansion tired these culture and these culture weathered in short span. In this chart only Indian (Hindu) and Chinese civilization has sustained the test of time and one thing which is common to both these Asian giants that they have not gone out militarily or imperialistically around the world. Rather these cultures has spread on different part of the world by teaching and their inherent science of life. This seems to be an...
